Refund information is updated once daily, overnight. Where’s My Refund may be unavailable each morning, typically between 4–5 a.m. Eastern Time, while updates are processing.

What you’ll need to check your refund status:

• Your Social Security number or ITIN

• Your filing status

• The exact refund amount shown on your tax return

You can make a payment toward your tax balance due, estimated taxes, or an existing payment plan at any time. Payments can be made in full or partially, depending on your situation.

Please note: Penalties and interest continue to accrue until the full balance is paid, so paying sooner can help reduce additional charges.
